We live in a rural area with high poverty. My students are afforded minimal opportunities. These magazines make the content relevant to their lives. It also exposes the students to a world outside of Ozark. Drug use is a problem in our area and these magazines address these topics. I can build upon what we read in the magazine. The magazines also include video clips that go along with each topic that heighten students interest.
