Hi, I work at a high risk ProjectLift school where most of the students are minorities and ESL students living in poverty. My school is PreK - 5th grade in an urban area of Charlotte North Carolina. I work with k-5th grade Special Education students in and out of class teaching all subjects. I work with below grade level readers who have physical and cognitive disabilities, difficulties learning complex material, vocabulary, fluency and reading issues. The students I work with are trying to succeed while coping with a variety of physical and cognitive disabilities. I provide extra support for students not only in science, social studies, and reading classes, but also in the learning lab, where students can work on and improve their reading skills on their own level. I have worked with children in an educational capacity for over 11 years. I love knowing that what I do every day helps a child's mind grow and prosper.
