The materials that we have picked out will make a difference in our students' lives. It will help the classroom be more warm and inviting and in return will help with the children to be more calm and receptive to learning.
Our students have all made great strides this year but these requested items will help them make even bigger strides. Having hands-on items that they can use will be more functional for their learning. The alternative seating options will help them feel more comfortable in the classroom learning environment. The rubbermaid totes will be used as alternative seating. We will cut out a section of the top and they will be able to sit inside of it and use the other half of the top as a desk or for them to rest their head on.
The two Wacky Sack bean bag chairs will be used as alternative seating in our reading/relaxation center and the book case will be placed in this area making it a comfortable and safe place for them to read and relax.
Our printer will be used for so many different things. The more lifelike we can have our worksheets and file folder manipulatives, the more likely it is that the information will make sense to them. With having access to a color printer, we will be able to bring more things to life for them.
The two vibrating pillows, Twiddle Pup, Fidget Sets, and Linking cubes will all be used during sensory time in the classroom. They can also be used during instruction as a tool to keep them more focused.
Lastly, with all of these new items, the book case and toy organizer will keep it all together in an organized fashion for the use of the students.
