My classroom is an elementary, intense classroom which means that most of my students have some significant academic, communication, social skills, and/or functional skills delays. The majority of my classroom are children who are autistic but I have students with other significant disabilities as well. Unfortunately, schools can not financially provide everything that teachers and students need to be productive and successful. Most teachers spend a lot of their personal money to make sure they, and their students, have the important but small things that help build a classroom. I purchase all of my sensory bins with my own money because I know that my students need sensory activities throughout the day in order to function at their best. I want to provide my students with the tools, equipment, activities that will best maximize their time and experiences at school. Donors choose allows teachers to do this. Thanks!
