My students need a selection of compelling novels like Thunderhead, One Amazing Thing, The End of Oz, Wintergirls, along with many others to choose from to build reading stamina in preparation for high school. I'm passionate about growing high school kids into successful college students through reading! My students are required to read at least 2 hours a week for English class homework and can choose from popular books like Wintergirls. I strongly believe in providing choice books in the classroom that pique student interest and build stamina, vocabulary, and empathy for the world around them. Giving these kids a variety of popular books to choose from will inspire reading growth and help to prepare them for success in college. Students prepare "book talks" regularly to share with their classmates. Many times students will choose to read a book that their peers recommended. This collection will help!
