Guided reading is a research-based strategy to increase student reading levels. In order to do Guided Reading, I need book sets for my classroom! I currently work with students who attend our strict discipline academy that uses trauma-informed practices to address each of our students' unique needs. Students read at different levels and can be several years behind their age-level peers. It can be difficult find novels at BOTH their interest level and reading level. My Students love that they are reading from "real books"! Students learn better when they can experience reading through real, tangible books. In such a short time, I have seen an increase in motivation for reading. Please help me keep my students' motivated to increase their reading skill with a larger variety of "real books" (as opposed to copies of printed books). We are so grateful to each and every one of you for your support in their future!
