I teach a second grade classroom at a Title I school. The ages of the children in my classroom range from 6-8. The students in my class are sweet, independent learners, eager to learn and wanting to share all the successes they have in my classroom with the world and especially with their parents and family. Unfortunately, many of the students in my class come from divided homes where education is often not a priority. There are a handful of students in my class who are English Language Learners, and their parents do not speak fluent English. The majority of parents in my class work 1, 2, or 3 different jobs to just try to stay afloat financially. Because of this, they are unable to attend special events during our school day. The students in my class want to share their experiences and the successes they have during their school day with their families but often can't due to the fact that few parents are able to visit our classroom during the school day.
