I am a 2011 Teach for America corps member, and I teach science to over 100 6th graders daily. Teaching has been one of the most challenging yet most rewarding things I have done so far, and though it was not something I had originally planned to do, choosing to teach after graduation (specifically in the Delta) was one of the best decisions I have made. I am currently in my third year of teaching. I really want to do a lot of hands on activities and labs with my students. However, the school that I teach at has no lab inventory so I am limited to what I can reasonably purchase out of pocket, and what I can get through funding. Your donation would really help to transform my classroom into a real science classroom where students ask questions and are able to perform their own experiments to answer their questions!
