Our class consists of 7th & 8th graders which in and out through the day is over 100 students. We are content specific in our classrooms. Nonfiction science literacy is an area we could benefit from our students gaining a higher interest and getting more involved in the nonfiction facet of reading. Our students study many fictional stories in their younger years but often nonfiction is less emphasized. Our school is a warm and caring environment that has been working very hard to have our students become better nonfiction readers. The students have the interest for this material and enjoy learning about science and scientific discovery but our resources do not allow to purchase an entire classroom library for them to have at their fingertips.
