I believe every student should have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument! Playing an instrument involves so many regions of the brain that aren't always engaged in other classes, and no education is complete without musical training. Some students are able to afford purchasing an instrument and all needed accessories, but many aren't. I believe they should have the chance to learn the beautiful art of music, so our school provides the opportunity for many students to rent necessary supplies. Even so, it still isn't enough to reach all students. Our classroom is a very unique, magical environment where students come to escape from the stress of their classes, connect with cultures around the world and many historic events and people, express themselves musically, and learn discipline and the value of doing hard things. These lessons will stay with them throughout the remainder of their lives.
