Hello! I am an elementary school librarian, serving students in pre-K through 5th grade. I work at a Title I school where funding is a bit limited. What I do receive generally is spent on curriculum related books rather than "for fun" books, seating, or technology. I have many great ideas to do with the Media Center and the students and am hoping to get started here! The "for fun" books are what generally hook reluctant readers and I would love to boost that portion of our collection. I would also love to provide more fun, flexible seating throughout the library, and STEM related items in our makerspace. We serve all grades Pre-k through 5th grade including CBI classes. Students use the media center before school, during recess, and are sent throughout the day by teachers. Before school and after school programs also use the media center, as well as faculty meetings, training, and celebrations.
