Lab activities help students see what they are learning and ask deeper questions. Our classroom has very limited lab equipment and access to supplies. Biotechnology is a logical fit to help students learn hands on science along with skills for the future. With a very limited budget, the lab activities completed are often very simplistic. With this project, students would be introduced to lab equipment like pipettes and gel electrophoresis to help them better understand biotechnology. In agriscience classes, students need to have the chance to see how biology uses technology to provide the food and fiber we use and produce daily.
