Many of my students have not traveled beyond their own city block, and it would be truly amazing to give the students such an experience. These students come from a neighborhood that is not integrated racially, socially, economically or religiously. By learning another language the students have been given the gift of seeing lifestyles that exist beyond their community. My students have gained a fond appreciation for seeing life in this different light and have worked hard to master Spanish both in language and customs. They really see the value in knowing and relating to another’s culture and society, even though their immediate community may not offer such opportunities.

About my class
