I teach in a Title I school in South Carolina. My students are great kids, but they do not have the advantages that some kids have. Their parents work really hard to make ends meet. Many of them have been laid off in this economy and they cannot afford even the basic necessities their children require. The students in my classes always want to do their best, but many times they have to work with the little supplies that we have available. I would like to give them the opportunity to see what they can do with good supplies and great literature in math!
