My students will have the ability to choose the best option for sitting for their own learning needs. These materials will help aid what I already have in my classroom.
Every student learns in their own way. It is my job as a teacher to provide the best learning environment that I can provide to allow my students to flourish with their individual learning needs. The spiky wobble cushions will be used in my classroom with the lowered table for students to sit at and enjoy the movement while they work.
I also have a high population of ELL learners in my classroom. The headphones will be used in our "tech learning lab" with our 6 chrome books for students to listen to reading, watch videos, and work on their language proficiency.
Because I have flexible seating in my classroom, my desks are very non-traditional. I have a lot of students who will be working on the floor or without a hard surface. This is where the clipboards come in. They are easily transportable, and the perfect size for activities during small group instruction.
Loop bands will be added to the students' chairs so they can move their legs and stretch their feet while working. This is a great strategy for students who want to sit in chairs, but still need the movement.
My classroom will be like a home for my students. The garden gnomes are for our class "pet". The students will take the gnome home during weekends and use it as a writing topic to talk about their weekend and their own families. Our gnomes will also be used for book buddies.
