I doubt many people remember the worksheet or paper test that touched them and made them want to learn more. However, most people remember the book or project that they loved. Learning and assessment should be fun, engaging and enhance problem-solving in Spanish. My goal is to provide great novels to make Spanish acquisition more likely by Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling. Lit circles and Free Voluntary Reading encourage students to find JOY in reading and talking in Spanish. Students also will benefit from collaborative assessment in the form of escape room activities in Spanish; increasing problem-solving, interpretation of information and communication in the target language. BreakOut EDU allows a teacher to modify the kit to assess many World Language tasks and topics.
