Picture Books are a simple way to engage my youngest engineers. Through incorporating picture books into science instruction, I can engage all learners, help them make connections, and help them retain information. Nothing is as powerful as a great read aloud. It provides excitement and creates a way to connect science to familiar stories. The donations to this project will be used to kick off STEAM challenges by connecting to science activities and books in a meaningful way. Text books are not student friendly. Read Aloud Books provide a child friendly way to connect science to other areas of the curriculum. Read Alouds hit so many academic standards in a short amount of time. As a teacher, I can pair the plot of a story, vocabulary, and content with a STEAM activity and learning becomes engaging and fun.
