This is the first year that my district opened transition classrooms. This new program was not able to provide my classroom with many math materials and manipulatives to assist in learning. Since my students learn best when provided with hands-on math materials, I’ve tried my best to personally provide my students with what they need. However, this can become expensive.
Your donation will go towards providing materials that can help with everyday math lessons.
All of the items will help with number awareness skills. We will use the Early Math Activity Center and Size & Color Bug Counters as concrete materials that will provide practice counting, sorting objects by attributes, and creating and recognizing patterns. We will use the Magnetic Learning Numbers to practice number identification and tracing. We will use the Learn to Count! Picture Puzzles and unlock it's number match to identify numbers and practice matching number quantities to number words.
These materials will not only enhance our math lessons, but they will also be added to our centers for additional support and practice during free choice center time.
