The supplies such as paper, pencils, folders, snacks , art supplies would make a difference because most of my kindergarteners come from low poverty families. More then half of my students showed up to school without any school supplies. The supplies & snacks I requested would be use to help students get through the school year. Although the school supplies are severely needed, the playground toys such as football, basketball and jump ropes would be as exciting for the kids . While the kids are outside they usually are running around with each other with no playground equipment. Children from low-income families rarely get the opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, after school programs, dance class, The hours spent in class is one of the only escapes from the problems they have to deal with at home.
