I want students to have a hands on experience with math. Math should always be more than worksheets and more than pencil and paper. My students spend their day interacting with meaningful math tasks, rigorous questions, and higher order thinking. A diverse group of learners have different needs and sometimes, manipulatives help content click. This project will provide my students with fraction multipliers, factor triangles, decimal place value cards, and decimal operation grids. These resources will help support and engage my students in our 5th and 6th grade content more deeply. Math is all around us. I want students to see real life connections to math. Scholastic subscriptions will allow my students to make meaningful math connections.
