STEM is an essential part of the 21st Century classroom. Creating tasks that allow students to choose the strategies that work best for them cultivates the type of independent learner that will be a valuable part of today's society. The more materials students have to choose from when completing their STEM tasks, the wider their imaginations begin to stretch! Students then enhance their communication skills by sharing, critiquing, and revising with their peers. STEM Bins give students a variety of challenges to keep them on their toes. Students begin to see cross-curricular connections through their explanations and collaborations. A key component of STEM is the use of various materials to design and build solutions to real-world problems.
