The gears, blocks and , magnetic sticks I have chosen for this project will be used daily to create various tasks. Some will be used to work on solo projects and others will be used to teach the gift of teamwork in our classroom. Students learn best by doing. I know I can teach them the basics of reading and writing, but to give a gift of learning by doing and having the same opportunity as other students in wealthier areas will be such an amazing gift. These children do not come from homes that have all these items and some have never seen a Lincoln Log, Tinker Toy or Lego. Truly, allowing my students to problem solve through their morning STEM bin challenges will be a beautiful way to grow their minds.
