My students need a 30 ft. parachute that is big enough for a whole class to use together. My students love to use the parachute, but we are only able to use a much smaller one due to the condition of my large one. Students will be challenged as a whole class to work together. The parachute will provide students with a unique way to develop teamwork, math skills, and fitness. We talk about the muscles in our arms as we do the bicep/tricep shake. We use math operations as we do different activities. Students move the parachute in unison to lift, lower and make shapes. By challenging students in different ways than what can be done in the classroom, we are able to develop their brain, body and heart all at the same time. The parachute is a childhood favorite. This gives students a chance to do something they love as well as develop necessary skills needed to help them in their day to day social life.
