Imagine that you are a student in a class of 16 and you are either confused about the material being presented or find it difficult to stay engaged because you already have mastered and are proficient in the material being presented. All of my students are capable of high levels of learning and have the ability to be academically successful, but they do not all learn in the same way, at the same time. In order to successfully maximize each child's learning potential in my classroom, it is important to introduce these students that do not fit in the "on grade level" group, collaborative and innovative ways to learn, in their own way, and at their own pace. The iPad will enable technology to take these children into a learning environment that caters to their individual needs. Technology is something special to my students as many do not have any technology available in their homes.
The very large majority of my students have never seen an iPad, much less gotten the opportunity to use one.
Many of my intervention students are ESL students and the iPad will extend beyond the language barrier to assist in their learning. My enrichment students will soar with the unlimited opportunities available through the technological resources available on the iPad. I can't help but smile when I think about the joy on their faces as they use and learn on this iPad.
