I am a reading teacher and work with small groups of children who need additional help in the classroom. The New York state curriculum is very difficult for many of my students. These particular children have to work much harder than many of their peers and often do not have the support they need from home. What they really need is to practice letter sounds and sight words repeatedly but often this gets very monotonous. I strive to create different activities incorporating the material they need to learn.
