The materials that I have requested are materials that will help me in supporting the early literacy of these Kindergarten students. My school uses the Daily 5 program that has several components that help in developing young readers. The Daily 5 is designed to teach students to build their stamina and independence in reading and writing tasks so they can fully engage in meaningful, authentic reading and writing for extended time periods. The Ipads will provide endless opportunities for students to engage in literacy tasks through reading, writing, and phonics apps! Your donations will help me, a first year teacher, plant in my students the love for reading! My students will engage in thoughtful and meaningful literacy tasks, with hopes that students will gain a love and appreciation of reading and books! My goal is to represent Atlanta Public School's mission to truly foster a culture of trust and collaboration in the classroom so that every student is prepared for their futures.
