Throughout the year we use this space to do support groups, restorative circles, restorative conversations and offer support for students who are experiencing stress and anxiety. For support groups, students come together to share their experiences with grief and loss, complex family issues and personal experiences that they don't often discuss with others. Restorative circles and conversations is our way of respectfully resolving conflict and addressing concerns with students, teachers and staff. This space also serves as a calming room for students to go to when they're in intense moments of stress and anxiety. It's important that this room feels welcoming, and with the right additions, we can make it a space where students can feel safe, calm and encouraged.
