This is a public school where 65% are free or reduced lunch. We also have a large population (40%) who are bussed to our school from over 20 miles away. We work hard to create a community feeling in our school and have students feel welcomed. We have high attendance everyday (98%), and our students are eager to be there. Many of my students are struggling readers and have become frustrated in past science classes, which resulted in them misbehaving. However, I have already seen great gains in their behavior and in their enthusiasm for science with the inquiry labs I do with them.
