No two students are the same, so why should we treat them all the same when it comes to classroom seating? With this project, I would like to give my high school students flexible seating options in my math classroom. Many students are uncomfortable the moment they step into any math class, and I believe that having flexible seating options will help students feel more comfortable in my class. A flexible seating environment helps cater to different learning styles as well as physical and emotional needs of students. With distinct choices such as standing desks, lap desks, clipboards, stools, and floor desks, students will be allowed to choose which seating option works best for their learning needs. I firmly believe that students will be more open to learning when they feel comfortable in their environment, both emotionally and physically.
