HI! I am a 2nd year teacher hoping to spice up my classroom and provide a unique experience fostering a love for reading! My goal is to challenge my students to give reading for pleasure a TRY...it's one school year and they may never have another teacher who lets them read anything they want all year. They may never have another teacher who will challenge them to read 40 books in a school year and will read the same amount herself! In order to best fit my students' needs, I feel our classroom needs to have its own collection of books. Children should feel comfortable picking up a book in their free time rather than chatting with their neighbor or sneaking out their phones. I also feel that comfortable seating would harbor a more relaxing atmosphere (along with some mood lighting!!) for students to get lost in their books. Please help me raise future readers!
