The standards and expectations for first grade is unlike what we grew up with! My students are decomposing numbers and exploring more math concepts than I did in all 12 years of my education. That being said they are still 6 and 7 years old and need to learn through play and hands on materials! I will use these with all my students in small groups as well as in a whole group setting. I want learning to be fun and engaging but it’s tricky to do without resources. These resources will allow me to keep my lessons engaging and students interested in learning!
