The True Colors Conference at the University of Connecticut provides youth and those who care for them, with a safe and nurturing environment for learning, networking, personal and professional growth. As a GSA advisor,​ I'm always looking for ways to bring my students together and become leaders within their lives and within the school. Attending the True Colors conference allows me the opportunity to expose my GSA to activities that promote leadership, well being and resources for both my student's and their families. When I was in high school I went to this conference myself and I was overwhelmed with joy just to be in a room with so many people that I knew would support and accept me for who I was. That feeling is something I want to pass onto my GSA...everyone deserves to feel a part of something...a community.
