I have a 4th grade class with 21 students. Many of them have specific learning disabilities and behavioral needs. My students are learning to write multi-paragraph essays and book reports. They attend a culturally and economically diverse K - 5 school which is a non-Title 1 school. We receive virtually no funding for extra learning devices. Despite this setback, we have a high API score. We are applying for the California Distinguished School Award. We continue to strive toward increased achievement in all subjects.
