I am so excited to start the 2018-2019 school year at Mars Estates ES in Baltimore County as the new School Counselor. This will be my first year as a school counselor! I will be serving students in grades Pre-K through 5th. MEES is a very diverse school, with students who have extremely high social/emotional needs. Many of my students come from very low socioeconomic statuses, with 80% qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Additionally, a large percentage of MEES students often have experienced a vast array of psychological trauma. My goal is to bring a more trauma centered counseling methodology to my students in hope that they may benefit from such interventions.
