Many of my students have attention deficit issues, twitches, or other issues that make sitting still at a desk for long periods difficult for them. They need to either be able to move while sitting at their desks (the bouncy ball chair) or the opportunity to move to a position on the floor (lap desks and computer desks). I want to do everything I can to open up opportunities for my students to do their very best work. Providing these opportunities means I have to think "outside the box" and embrace the challenges inherent in a special learning environment - and one of those challenges is making sure that my students can access their "best learning space" while in our classroom!
