It is so important that students are able to identify with characters in a book. When students are able to relate to books, they feel safe in their classroom environment. These books will allow diverse students to have access to diverse books. These books will also encourage crucial conversations about injustice and how we all have an important role to make a change in society. It is through literature that my fourth graders will be able to improve their comprehension and find their voice in conversations regarding equity and liberation. This project will provide my students with the diverse resources they need.

About my class
