Campus International High School is a groundbreaking IB school in the heart of Cleveland. 2017 marks the first year for high school students! I teach biology to about 90 9th graders and design to about 40 of those same students. Students are challenged to learn a full year of biology, meet Middle Year Program expectations, and prepare for the Ohio State Test. Students at CIHS are challenged with a rigorous hands-on curriculum, writing lab reports on a regular basis, and are exposed to a variety of community and other engagement opportunities. Still, students predominantly come from low income households and many start several academic steps behind their peers. We at Campus do not let those reasons become excuses, and we work hard to give students every available opportunity to reach the high expectations that we set.
