About my class

As a life skills support teacher, I have a classroom that is filled with young students who have experienced failures both large and small. Traditional classrooms often cause roadblocks that they have difficulty overcoming. My job as their teacher is to help them see that there are resources in our world that can help them be successful. When used correctly, technology has a way of opening doors. With an up-to-date iPad, it is possible for my students to independently work on their reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary and math skills through apps. I will also have the opportunity to get additional apps that would help with social and behavioral skills, community instruction skills and personal care skills. With an iPad, my students would be able to work on pre-academic skills and functional academics that are the foundational skills for their learning.
