Our request includes a 12000/14000 BTU portable air conditioner (floor model). Our public school building is well-maintained, but one challenge our scholars and staff face is hot and humid classrooms. Air-conditioned and well-ventilated classrooms create an environment that is conducive to learning, active engagement, and a sense of​ personal wellbeing. Scholars communicate better, collaborate willing, demonstrate greater creativity, and can think critically when their classroom environment is socially, emotionally, and PHYSICALLY safe and comfortable. The months that seem to require this system the most are September and October (Indian Summer) and April, May, and June during the spring and summer seasons.
