Our infant/toddler program is a new program at our K-12 charter school with the mission that it will serve as the building block towards Utah's portrait of our graduate. With COVID closures impacts on funding, we have had limited resources that will help provide tactile and sensory opportunities for cognitive and social development. With these supplies we will be able to engage the whole child as they grasp the foundation of a Utah scholar. The materials requested are not everything that we need but will provide our classroom which serves students of color the supplies necessary to begin to engage with science and art for their first time. Additionally, early exposure to science and targeted motor activities will help ensure that students not only meet their developmental milestones but that they will also be able to continue their education with social-skills for success! While many other early programs focus on ensuring their students are kindergarten ready, we have our mission that our students will leave being better prepared for life, better candidates for jobs and also better candidates for higher education.
