I have been teaching kindergarten...the best place on earth...for over 15 years. In my classroom, we learn to write, to do math, how to get along with each other, and how to wait your turn. We laugh, and discuss, and explain, and read, and read, and READ. We work really hard in my room on learning to be a learner. We discover that brains are always growing, and that we learn the most when we make a mistake. We problem solve all day long. We solve math problems and explain how our brain figured them out. We work on figuring out what to do if we break a pencil, lose a mitten, or can't find a friend. My classroom is my favorite place in the world. I love the family we build. Above all, I want my students to know that school is a place they belong, that they are valued, and that they are loved.
