They currently have 24 mismatched combined student desks. These desks show years of use, and duct tape covers broken metal pieces to protect the user. They are an aesthetic eyesore, and are a disaster when it comes to maneuverability. The desks are a one size fits all solution in a not so one size world. In the time span of one class period, we go from a large group circle, to pairs, to a large group again. Separate tables and chairs would allow for easing transition. Also, it is time to make our classroom feel like a comfortable place to sit, share, and learn rather than a sterile and outdated institution.
