My kids this year are part of a multi-age combination classroom made up of 2nd and 3rd graders. I have 27 kids with no aide and rely on a few parent helpers when I need a little hand. Many of my students are already avid readers at such a young age. We are at a public school which has at least 35% of students receiving free/reduced rate lunch. Many families are not able to provide the extra supplies that are desired by the classroom community.
