These supplies will help make our class a place where children can take on the business of learning in a way that is age appropriate. A calm and inviting rug we can all fit on in a circle for class meeting time or read aloud will help create an intentional space in our room where children can expect to gather to discuss, learn, and partner together. It also serves as a space for children to spread out on during independent work time and a place for simply getting lost in a book during reading time. The pencil sharpeners I've requested are tried and true. They won't break after the frequent sharpening, dropping, and passing around that comes with being used by sharp-pencil loving 8-9 year old learners. The pocket sleeves will help us save and reuse paper and support organized and functional center rotations. Children love feeling grown-up and studious when they get to use dry erase markers on them and these sleeves will last for years without becoming grimy and unappealing. These supplies will help create a space that inspires children because it intentionally considers their specific needs.
