Children need "hands on" materials to help them develop math concepts. Especially students that learn differently, or are having learning challenges. They need to be able to manipulate, count, trace, build, and play! My students need books on counting, money and time, number tracing activity, magna-tiles, a hundreds number board, Unifix stair and counting place value chart. These materials will make children with learning challenges appreciate math and not feel overwhelmed! These resource will make math meaningful and fun. Children will have memorable experiences interacting with others as they learn. Counting, building, sorting, comparing, sharing, imagining, playing, having fun...these are all skills that will help cement math concepts in the children's memory to help them truly understand and appreciate math in an abstract way.
