I have been building a library for my students since I started. I frequently pick up books from thrift stores and anywhere else that I can find good books at good prices. I am working to bring more engaging books into the classroom that are required reads. It will be much easier for me to keep my class engaged with the novels that we are reading when they are books that they enjoy. I remember hating reading as a child. I couldn't relate to the characters in the books that we read in class. The novel that I have chosen is one they want to read. It's one they can relate to. It's an absolute classic, as well!
