With these tablets, students will have access to more learning opportunities. There are brilliant activities for students that require QR scanners, coding apps, touch screens for manipulating virtual counters, and video/photo capabilities for creating math collages. These all sound wonderful, but cannot be done without a tablet. Because of this donation, my students will finally be able to take part in these awesome technological activities and more! We will code, create, and manipulate through touch screen. Math apps will also help students access material at their level, going faster or slower in pace based on their individual needs. This will help further differentiate small group activities, as students learn to use apps on their own or with a friend. Due to their growing understanding of math and applied science (through manipulating technology), students will have better capabilities in future STEM challenges. As we tie in the lessons learned through the tablet to curriculum and physical science and math projects, they will use their growing knowledge to compute and analyze problems.
