We have gotten by so far this year with colored pencils, pens, and printer paper, but we are ready to level up! Scholars will use these materials to create art that is meaningful to them! They will really be able to flex their creative muscles and choose from a variety of media. They may want to do their self-portrait as an acrylic painting. Maybe they'll want to do their "spirit animal" project in watercolor. They may even want to create a three-dimensional piece using gesso to prep. No matter how they choose to bring their idea to life, we will be especially grateful to have a special place in the classroom (the drying rack) to house our works-in-progress and keep them nice and neat until they are finished. All our pieces will be bordered with masking tape, so, when we peel the tape away, we are left with a "matte" affect. This makes such a big difference because many of our scholars' artworks get hung up at home!
