Having a space where students can spend time reading comfortably is pivotal to their success in the classroom. I am asking for materials to make a mini-library filled with alternative seating, such as donut chairs and floor pillows, that will allow students to have direct access to grade-level reading material. Floor pillows and donut chairs will give students a break from sitting at their desks and allow them to read comfortably for extended periods of time. A rug not only defines the area as a separate space but also provides comfortable floor seating and will serve as an additional object to absorb noise, making the Little Library an ideal place to read. Currently, our classroom does not have a bookshelf. The adjustable shelving I have selected will make texts accessible to learners of any size. It also be easy to move in order to periodically reinvigorate the physical space in the Little Library.
