Our school is a Title 1 school that is located in a high poverty area. Many of my students do not have access to books at home. I had these kids this last school year in kindergarten, and now I have the privilege of being their first grade teacher this coming school year. I am very excited about looping up to first grade with my kindergarten class. Last year I got to know my students and what their likes, dislikes, strengths, and weaknesses are. I am hoping to use this information to make our first grade year together even better than last year!
